developmental vision processing
With increasing use of technology in todays world, we can no longer be content with “my child has 20/20 vision”.
It’s no longer about what is the lowest line they could read as perfect vision does not always correlate with perfect sight.
More importantly, the focus is about how the two eyes can team and focus quickly and accurately on the task at hand;
It is about the child developing good binocular connection and hard-wiring on both sides of the visual cortex to see images single and clear.
Considering that 80% of our learning is through our vision and one in four children have an undiagnosed vision-related learning difficulty, eye examinations are crucial in attaining your child’s developmental vision processing ability.
A child’s ability to learn their letters, read in a horizontal array and retain number and process information and words on the page, doesn’t depend on their vision alone. This information needs to be seen clearly but then it needs to be processed through their brain.
At Kiddies Eye Care, we conduct such specialised testing to assess many such areas of their skills, so that a detailed assessment is conducted and an informative report is given to parents, teachers and colleagues
